Orofure sits in Sobetsu Town in southern Hokkaido, just under 10km from Lake Toya's southeast shore. The mountain is compact—136m of vertical on north-facing slopes—but the terrain mix is surprisingly even: a third beginner, a third intermediate, and a third advanced. The steepest pitch tops out around 25°, so nothing here demands big skills, but the advanced terrain gives experienced riders something to work with on a mellow day.<br><br>The single pair lift keeps things simple and uncrowded. You're looking at short runs and quick laps, which suits a half-day session or a stop between bigger areas. There's a small park by one of the courses and a kids area with sledging and banana boat rides at the base. Lessons and limited rental are available if you need them.<br><br>Orofure opens mid-to-late December through early March, running 9am–4pm on weekdays and 8:30am–4:30pm on weekends. No night skiing. The modest scale and quiet vibe make this a low-pressure option for riders passing through the region, but don't expect a full day's worth of vertical or terrain variety.
